5-10yrs & 2-5yrs Climbing Classes

5-10yrs Tātou Moko Mangaeka
A climbing club specifically for children aged 6-10yrs. (5 year olds who have started school can attend with an parent/guardian present)

A great way for them to gain skills, confidence and strength. Make new friends and find a passion for climbing.

5-7 years – Levels 1 – 3 Climbing Confidence & Safety

When: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30pm
Patient and experienced Instructors teach safe practices while maintaining a fun environment to build kids confidence and ability through games and challenges. We appreciate any parents willing to stay and help hold ropes.

6-10 years – Levels 2 – 4 Developing Technique and Balance

When: Wednesday’s & Thursdays 3:30- 4:30pm during term time
If your child has confidence and ability to spare this is the class for them. This class is focused on completing the “Two Star Achievement Card” in techniques required to climb coloured top rope climbs & basic skill required for lead climbing.

6-10years Levels 3 – 5 – Strength and Equipment

When: Wednesday 4:30-5:30pm during term time
This class is focused on completing levels 3 -5 in achievement booklets with a focus on bouldering/spotting (low level/no ropes over mats) and belaying using an ATC.

6-10yrs Levels 4 – 7 – Free Climbing

When: ~~Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm during term time~~ On Hold until Week 7 of Term 4, 2024
This class focuses on extending your child’s physical endurance and technique by challenging them to complete climbs while not using the rope for resting unless they fall

Cost: $115 for a 12week membership starting two weeks ahead of the school term OR $71 for last six weeks of term. Option to try casually for two weeks @$14 per session then this comes off term/half term membership

Membership includes access to the wall during public openings but does not include equipment hire outside of class times.

2-5yrs Flying Kiwis Climbing Club

A climbing club children aged 2-5yrs and their siblings/parent/guardians.
Encourage your little one to learn how to push their limits while learning the basics of acknowledging risk and safe falling. Class consists of games, demonstrations and lots of encouragement from our knowledgeable instructor. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the whole session and the adult or an older sibling can choose to climb themselves at the pre-schooler rate.

When: 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month 11:00-12:00pm

Cost:

$9 per climber including harness hire
$3 harness hire each for climber and rope holder

$27 5 trip entry concession(includes 10% off individual entry)
$24 harness hire concession(includes 20% off individual hire)
